TIPS& ACTIONS : Week 9

CONSCIOUS CAPITALISM & CROWD-FUNDING

“What Uber is to taxis, Thundafund is to raising investment” Patrick Schofield (Thundafund)

Tips:

  1. Remember that your idea/solution to “Imagine A New Africa” is a representation of the invisible stuff (ie: the creative thinking, innovation, strategy, revenue model, etc) that will make your idea possible
  2. Know your target market and who you’re talking to
  3. Remember crowd-funding is about marketing yourself everyday
  4. Live and breathe crowd-funding for the duration of the campaign period

Actions:

  1. In order to win the professional filming of your UCT Upstarts Thundafund campaign, your team will need to create a micro-video of your idea using only your cell phone. Deadline is before or by 20 July (Term 3).
  2. Email your youtube link to hello@upstarts.co.za
