"DARE TO BE DIFFERENT” – HOW IDEATION & HUMAN-CENTRED DESIGN THINKING CAN INFLUENCE YOUR FUTURE VENTURE"
16 MARCH 1-2PM
Ulrich Meyer-Hollings of Future by Design says, “our imagination is a powerful force of competitive advantage”. Design Thinking has provided us with a very useful toolkit to build new ventures with real impact - by moving from observation into prototyping and market launch. His pop-up class will introduce this thinking with real examples of how design can future-proof your venture.
Sharing the stage, is Dr Francois Bonnici, the Founding Director of The Bertha Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship and a social innovator in his own right. Together with colleagues, he established an award- winning social venture, building low-cost medical devices for low-resource settings. For example, their wind-up fetal heart rate monitor is helping to curb the high rates of preventable infant deaths in Africa is being further developed and commercialised in a partnership between PowerFree Education Technology, a South African non-profit organisation, and global technology firm, Royal Philips.
